Note Name Games
Reading music requires an instant response between seeing a note on a page, identifying it, and playing it on your instrument. These note name games are created to help you recognize the images of notes quickly. Select a pitch range that you would like to work on and begin with the un-timed version to ensure your accuracy. When you are confident that you know exactly where each pitch is, try the timed version of the games.
Each game features Flopsy the Whimsical Clown. He will let you know if you have made an error, and if you get to the end of a game he will do a little dance to help you celebrate.
I don’t usually advocate the use of computer games to learn music, but in the case of learning pitches, these games are fun and useful. Stay focused and relaxed while playing. Avoid tension and remember that if you make a mistake with any of these games, you can just start over.
